The Pub was formally known as the Galen Tavern, a local watering hole for many decades. In September 2001, Ed Hedrick purchased the building and began an extensive interior renovation. In November 2002, the bar reopened to the public as Ed's Canal Pub reviving new life into the historic tavern. Adding to the ambiance, Ed's Canal Pub features an Authentic Tin Ceiling and original Art Deco Bar that can be traced back to (at least) the early 1940s. A gas Fireplace, lively Juke Box & TVs create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Be sure to check out our two state-of-the-art Dartboards that allow for multiple players at one time. Upon entering, guests are welcomed to the Pub with the sweet aroma of Fresh Popcorn. A wide selection of quality Bottled Beer, Wine & Liquor in addition to a daily Happy Hour with drink specials from 3 to 6 pm makes Ed's the perfect place to relax after a long day at work. We sell Hand-Rolled Cigars too! Or you can always get your favorite Beer, Wine & Liquor 'To Go'. Buy The Case for 15% Over Cost! The Irish Trilogy: Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks plus Maguire's Ale are always available on draft. Furthermore, Live entertainment from time to time creates a favorite gathering place for locals and tourists alike. Don't forget about our Monthly Wine Tasting (1st Monday of each month except holidays) and other Special Events. Outdoor Seating is always available in the warmer months outside of the Pub in the Merchants Alley that runs along the side of the building and on our new handicap friendly and accessible Deck.
